TWAIN – Technology Without an Interesting Name: An inside view to technology integration.

Microsoft Live @ EDU

I participated in a webinar on Microsoft Live @ EDU on April 7, 2009 and it has sparked some interesting conversations within our Educational Technology group. I wanted to keep a running dialogue of notes, conversations, and all the puzzle pieces coming together about what it would really take to migrate a district to Cloud Computing.

I think we all want to move to this type of availability but it is a HUGE risk and a HUGE change. And that makes us all hesitant even if we are considered a “change agent”.

Timeline and Notes:

My original post is titled “Is $0.00 Too High a Cost?!” and contains the original notes I took from a Microsoft webinar. I also posted on Twitter, Facebook, and our TEC-SIG list serv inquiring if other districts have implemented this system.

04/08 – I found an article on Microsoft’s website that referenced a district in Florida that implemented the programs. I have sent an email to their district technology administrator to establish contact and see if I can interview him for more information. I also found a case study of a district in Oregon using the resources online as well. I am making contact with their technology department as well.
