Microsoft Courier?
Gizmodo is the first to showcase footage of Microsoft’s take on the tablet which looks more like a booklet. Introducing the Courier:
Courier User Interface from Gizmodo on Vimeo.
Multi-touch and multi-screens combined for not only stylus touch but you can draw and even flick pages. Looks like it has the “inductive” power pad which is a flat pad you can place the device on for it to get a charge. Dell recently introduced this concept with its new Latitude Z which has a “wireless power” source. Looks to me like a docking station with cords but the device itself won’t need a power cord. It will charge on this new “hot plate”.
It looks like the concept of Microsoft Surface has shifted from the large tabletops that the original videos were showcasing to something a bit more portable. Something….similar to an i-Device. The multi-touch is something not new nor is the simplified home button for accessing menu items. Multi-screens are new and this looks like what the Kindle could be for the under 40 crowd.
It will be interesting to see what happens to this device as it develops. Keep your eyes open!
